Cobalt.

Cobalt’s checkout asked twelve questions before taking a card. We cut it to one screen that clears in seconds — and converts like it.

The challenge

Every new payment method had been bolted onto the same form, so checkout grew to twelve fields and four steps. Drop-off climbed past 60% on mobile, and support spent its days explaining declined payments that were really abandoned ones.

The approach

We rebuilt checkout as a single adaptive screen: card, wallet, and bank transfer collapse into one input that recognises what the customer starts typing. Risk checks moved behind the scenes, surfacing only when something actually looks wrong.

The outcome

Checkout now clears in under twenty seconds for a first-time buyer. Mobile conversion is up by a third, and the twelve-field form is a screenshot we keep for the retrospective.
